Pro-Brexit Esther McVey MP wanted to make it clear to the British public that the United Kingdom is departing from the European Union on the 29 March 2019 with or without a deal. It is default government policy.
The Tory MP for Tatton spoke with Nigel Farage on LBC, McVey has quit the Prime Minister’s government over the Withdrawal Agreement, Esther McVey said: “The plan has always been to Leave, as we always said, without a deal if we cannot agree on a deal, and that is why it was so important that we did all the planning and preparations around it.”
Theresa May’s cabinet is overwhelmingly made of pro-EU MPs and reject the idea of a No ‘Deal Brexit’ on WTO terms, Brexiteer Esther McVey said: “lots of planning has been done” in preparation for the possibility of this eventuality by the Civil Service.
She blasted that Mrs. May has a “make-up of the Cabinet” of Remainers and almost exclusively contained MPs that “all voted for Remain” which includes the likes of arch-Europhile Chancellor of the Exchequer Phillip Hammond who is certainly no outspoken supporter of Brexit, and the man described as Theresa may’s de-facto Deputy Prime Minister David Lidington again, a very pro-EU senior Tory.
She also pointed out that the Prime Minister has been influenced by Olly Robbins, McVey branded Robbins as Mrs. May’s “key adviser” she highlighted the fact that Olly Robbins was “very much about staying in”.
The MPs in the House of Commons voted overwhelmingly in favour of going down the convoluted Article 50 process and Brits voted by historic margin to leave the European Union. Theresa May and her government need deliver the result of 2016 referendum, the United Kingdom must withdraw from the European Union on the 29 March 2019. With or without a deal!
