One of the leading Eurosceptic and pro-Brexit Conservative MPs Jacob Rees-Mogg has called upon the political leaders from all sides to place their trust into the British public by delivering the referendum result they voted for.
On Sunday, Jacob Rees-Mogg criticised the European Union, claiming it is a “failed political model” and blasted left-wing figures as being guilty of making projects like the EU to impose policies on the people that wouldn’t vote for or support.
In the wake of the British PM Theresa May deciding to postpone her deeply divisive and unpopular Brexit proposals until as late a the 21st of January many of her fellow Tory colleagues have lost faith in her leadership.
Allison Pearce said: “I’ve never felt more ashamed to be a Conservative.”
William Hague claims: “The Tories are on the edge of crisis.”
Jacob Rees-Mogg blasted: “The hedge fund managers didn’t vote for Brexit, they voted for remain. It is people up and down this country, 17.4 million for voted. If you want tougher regulations… win an election and implement them… this is the failure of ambition for the Labour party.
“You think you can’t win elections, so you must get Europe to implement regulations that you like.”
May has already betrayed Northern Ireland, the Democratic Unionist Party and the all the British people that voted to leave the European Union so, she is extremely short of allies and support.
Theresa May leads an extremely divided and factious Conservative Party, if the Tories want to win a majority at the next general election they must have a fresh leadership challenge to replace May, and either negotiate a deal where the United Kingdom leaves the European Union and all it’s devices and mechanisms or failing that leave without a deal and trade under WTO rules.
