European Chief Negotiator for the United Kingdom Exiting the European Union is laying out fresh demands that any new deal should include a clause binds the government in Britain.
EU nationalist Michael Barnier will demand that any new deal includes the cast-iron guarantee that it will not be altered by a new Prime Minister at a later date. According to The Times.
Sabine Weyand, Michael Barnier’s deputy claimed: “It would be possible that (the European Union) accepted painful compromises to avoid a failure and then the UK would want to continue negotiating because suddenly it’s possible again.”
Reportedly Emmanuel Macron the French President agrees with this position as well. Which would mean that the deal agreed between the EU and the UK would be extremely difficult to change at a later date.
David Davis the former Brexit Secretary had this to say in regards to Chequers: “Chequers was a sign that we blinked first. We conceded that we would stay under EU rules, not just today’s rules but changes of rules in the future!”
The British government cannot allow the European Union to sign the UK up to the Chequers deal then bind Theresa May’s successors into the exact same deal without any room for re-negotiation. The bully-boys in Brussels to trying to strong-arm the Mrs. May into yet more subjugations on their terms…
