The recent social media purges have made no exception of Alex Jones, however Twitter has not yet banned the radio host and film producer from Texas.
Alex and his news channel aptly named “Infowars” were struck of iTunes by none other than Apple on Monday, then Facebook, Spotify and Youtube jumped on the bandwagon and banned Alex Jones for supposed “community rules violations” whatever that means…
But, Twitter has not decided to ban Alex Jones or any accounts associated with him all with their verified ticks.
The media company run by Alex Jones, Infowars creates videos and podcasts which mainly star Jones.
Going on record to state why Infowars was banned, Spotify claimed; “Due to repeated violations of Spotify’s prohibited content policies, The Alex Jones Show has lost access to the Spotify platform.”
Facebook then on to say; “As a result of reports we received, last week, we removed four videos on four Facebook Pages for violating our hate speech and bullying policies.”
Facebook claimed they had reports of content that was supposedly “glorifying violence” also “using dehumanising language to describe people who are transgender, Muslims and immigrants” which was of course in complete breach of their community standards.
Lastly, Youtube then said; “All users agree to comply with our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines when they sign up to use YouTube.
“When users violate these policies repeatedly, like our policies against hate speech and harassment or our terms prohibiting circumvention of our enforcement measures, we terminate their accounts.”
UKIP’s official Twitter page tweeted in support of Alex Jones and Infowars, there is no secret that is after many social media personalities joining the ranks of UKIP.
Whether you like Alex Jones or not, his right to freedom of speech and press must be defended! We are now living in times where social media giants control the algorithms of our online audience and shut-down the free speech of any individual that does not play their game.
