David Davis the Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union blasted the EU, claiming they were ‘point-scoring’ and ‘public posturing’ during the Brexit negotiations.
David Davis was hitting back at the EU for the EU’s baseless claim that the UK government was and is ‘chasing a fantasy’ during the Brexit talks.
Davis stated; “This is not about public posturing and scoring points – we came to the table with a series of serious papers this week, with the intention of making progress towards resolving difficult issues because that is in our shared interests.
“Our proposals on security, for example, are not about bending rules or ‘membership-lite’ – they are about protecting people – nothing more, nothing less. We face the same threats and have shared values – criminals and terrorists do not respect borders.
“We have made an unconditional offer which we believe provides the best way to do that,” he said. “The EU should not now be seeking to put conditions on this.”
This could potentially mean the British government are preparing for a “No deal” situation. The European Union are acting extremely authoritarian towards a nation that voted for leave almost two-years ago, that would be the preferred outcome. The UK can keep all its money and we would see the EU bureaucrats come by begging.
