Poverty has gotten so bad in some communities that children all around the UK are having to steal food from schools to get by, many teachers are warning.
A headteacher spoke out regarding the child poverty, by saying: “My children have grey skin, poor teeth, poor hair; they are thinner.
“Children are filling their pockets with food. In some establishments that would be called stealing. We call it survival.”
Reportedly out of every thirty school age children nine are now having to live in poverty.
It is absolutely disgraceful that in a modern country like Britain that gives away over £13 billion a year in foreign aid, and allows untold numbers of British children to live without basic necessities. What hope is there for the futures of young children living in poverty? What society are we creating for our future generations? It’s not a time for cheap talk from arm-chair politicians, it’s time for positive action and to make big changes to our education system.
