Right now in Italy the Italians are considering the next coalition for government in their next election. The anti-establishment, Euro-sceptic government coalition of the Lega the Five Star Movement is reportedly their favourite potential government.
In a poll 32% of Italians supported a Five Star-Lega coalition, in other words this is the Italian people’s top choice. The Five Star Movement and Lega plan to deal with the so-called refugee crisis and are against the Euro.
This could even be beneficial to the British, both parties want good relations with the UK and for us to be treated fairly during Brexit, some would argue this is a welcome relief as the EU is trying to constantly punish the UK during the Transition Period.
When we look at Italy’s top favourite to be Prime Minister, leader of the Five Star Movement, Luigi Di Maio is by far the favourite man for the job with 40% supporting him. 23% would like to the bureaucratic Technocrat in charge. Lastly 21% would like to Lega’s Matteo Salvini do the job.
The populist anti-establishment, euro-sceptic and controlled borders wave surges across Europe. Italy is a shining example of what happens when the political elite let the ordinary people down and sheds further light on Italy’s frustration with the EU. The people in Europe have had enough of Brussels.
