Farnborough is a town in north east Hampshire and it was the coldest place in the UK last night. For the second night in a row.
As the cold winds and snow hit Farnborough last night it went as low as -11.7 degrees Celsius in the South side of the town it was also England’s coldest night this winter.
And on Monday night it went as low as -8.9 degrees Celsius in Farnborough, jointly the coldest place in the country.
Farnborough shared that honour with a small hamlet in the northern Scottish Highlands called Altnaharra.
A spokesman from the MET Office spoke to Eagle and said: “showed the depth of the arctic blast we’re experiencing, and will be experiencing for some time.”
Forecaster predict extremely cold temperatures this week. It could get even worse.
Reportedly a amber warning of snow has been downgraded to yellow warning for the county of Surrey, with a yellow warning in place for some parts of the county of Hampshire.
It layman’s terms it means: Very cold temperatures and showers of snow.
